It was the first time that I used my VFX-CONTROLLER with my Producer because my Vestax VCI-100 was at the technical service. Usually I disable the x-faser because I don't use it and don't wanna accidentially move it. So I deleted the crossfader in the MIDI-ini of the vci. But when I tried the same on the VFX-control the speedfaders went mad. As it's 2 times 7 bit the mapping of the 128x128 steps went outta control. Does anyone have a clue? I taped the fader with gaffa but that's a bad looking solution.
So to get it clear: I DELETED the crossfader and afterwards the pitchfaders went mad.
Apart from this the controller was a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y fine! the buttons reacted instantly, have a precise pressure-switching-point and the faders are as smooth as they can be. The jogs are very precise, too and even with their reduced size I could work with them as good as with the ones of the VCI. The work is a bit different as the jogs don't keep on spinning when you lift your fingers. And also my MIDI-ini "lifts" the spinning function instantly when you lift your fingers from the touch-sensitive area. but that didn't affect the quality of my work. Only the style of using changed a bit. So after a few hours of pure work I can say that it is of great quality and I would like to crosscheck this against the derivates of SYNC or ADJ or similar (internal components differ in quality, also does the soundcard!!!and no touch-sense afaik).
cheers
