Broadcast on Shoutcast by using Mixvibes

Postby djcb on 20 Aug 2008, 03:13

Hello, :)

I want to broadcast live radio on internet by using mixvibes.
Until now I've only broadcasted by using only the shoutcast server and winamp. I saw on internet that you can broadcast with virtual DJ, that's why I thought: Is it possible to broadcast by using mixvibes :?:
I have already installed the server, winamp and the needed dsp plugins. I have mixvibes DVS PRO 1 Reloop RMX-20, 2 Soundlab turntables and a windows XP.
I hope to get a reply soon as I want to broadcast asap.

Hi C-Bass,

You'll have to wait for JC's return in a couple of days to get some assistance on that issue. I know its technically possible, but its a pretty advanced functionality that might need some updating and testing.

I haven't used Shoutcast in ages, but I seem to remember a friend of mine DJ'ing from CDJs onto shoutcast by plugging his mixer into the line-in on his soundcard.

You should be able to do the same into your laptop's mic in (most laptops act as a mic/line-in depending on the setting).

Otherwise, if you're on a PC, surely you have a soundcard that has line-in.

Then it's just making the appropriate selections in the DSP in Winamp. If I can scrounge up some time this afternoon I'll try it out myself.

I would recommend an external program like Oddcast - http://www.oddsock.org/tools/edcast/edcast_standalone_3.1.19.exe

It`s easy to configure and can broadcast to SC servers, Ogg e.g. + you have a good VU meter in it.

Microphone on the mixer and outputs of the mixer in an other soundcard with a xxxcast software/plugin to server.
