No Sync

Postby carlm49@hotmail.com on 21 Oct 2010, 06:14

Hi Forum People
Just purchased the mixvibes Cross Pack with MixVibes Cross software, U46mk2, and put it on my MacBookPro13'. For some reason the sync between the control records and the program keeps going a bit out of whack. It's fine for a few dozen songs, and then BAM it turn's into a horizontal line of un-synced agony, as opposed to those in-sync circles I'm sure everyone else is so familiar with. I've tried everything I can think of: hit the calibrate button, hit it again, and again, hit again and pray, restart the computer, restart the software, restart the whole system from the ground up and down again about a chu-zillion times, and I can't seem to fix it.
I've plugged everything EXACTLY as the manual told me to, and already tried to do it my own way once, but I got a huge fat sac of disappointment as nothing worked. Any help, or pointers towards help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers!

Try an other usb port or an active usb hub : may be you have a sudden loss of usb stream.

Tried a seperate usb hub, and problem occasionally persists.
What seems to fix it at the moment is going into preferences and de-activating the input channel concerned (currently it's only channel's 3/4 aka Turntable numero two that's causing any problems) and unplugging the right turntable (numero two) from the U46mk2, then plugging them back in, and re-activating them. Problem with this is it pauses the mix on channels 1/2 to pause for a few seconds each time you turn a channel active or inactive, which when live is going to make a lot of people very confused.
This is the first virtual DJ software I've used, and have previously DJ'd with just vinyl.
I can't figure out why it keeps randomly doing it. Any ideas on what it may be, so I can stop doing it? :P

I didn't originally update because of the warnings saying that it is a beta version for home use only, and not to be used for public dj-ing as it may be unstable.
I've updated it now, and neither of the decks are working. When playing the control vinyl I get the error saying "The deck playing speed is not 1 (I.e. pitch 0) Please reset and try again"
If the control vinyl is not playing "No input signal. Pleas check the deck and try again," so at least I know it's getting the signal.
I am, of course, playing at pitch 0. Turntables also have qaurtz (automatic 0 pitch) function which I have tried on and off a few times, to no effect.

Cross U46-01.jpg

Put the switch of the soundcard on vinyl and put the switch in the software on line.
