no sound in my headphones

i know this is a setup error on my part most likely, but everything is working, but no sound is coming through my headphones. i need help! this is highly frustrating haha

it's easy to follow these forum rules even for a newbie.

Forum rules
- Register your software (User Control Panel > Profile > Serial Number)
- Go to the download center and install the latest versions of software and drivers
