Make track edits in the software

I can make my own edits in Ableton (or other DAW, or in Cross if I want).

But what about if we can cut the track and re-arrange it without recording.

For example, I cut a track in 4 part (named "1", "2", "3", "4" basically).
One part can be in an other ("1" could be the entire track, "2" a part in the track for intro, etc...)
And we just have to write a sequence like "22214433" in order to obtain an edit. This sequence would be a "sub-track".

And with this, you have different versions (intro, short, extended,...) with just one track in the storage device.

I think it's like Serato Flip.

The locators and sampler can be used to achieve such.
Only limitation would be that you would have to manually execute the order.

Locators (loops) are saved with the track. The samplepads can be filled automatically with equal length every time.

As Cross tries to make thing easy for DJ's this automatic may not that easy to implement. Important issue here is that the cutting needs someone with good ear/music feeling as you could easily end up with noticable issues (irregular beat/tone/volume.)
So for experienced DJ no problem...
