Minimal screen layout option

Hi Guys,

I'd love to see a "minimal" screen layout option. Notice in the screenshot attached:

- Mixer is hidden.
- Pitch faders are hidden.
- Sample slots are in the small view, for maximum library viewing.

Considering that many of us don't need some functions on screen as we're using external mixers etc, I think this would be great. You get more library viewing, and wider waveforms.

Thoughts?

I think it is more convenient to have a layout that does not change with a setup.

Now the controls are more in the same position what IMHO makes it easier to navigate quickly by the eye as well as the mouse/touchpad. Having buttons in different positions (which I see as a side effect of your suggestion) would not make the overall usage easier.

I'm not too sure what you mean, I don't think buttons would have to move, I'm just suggesting the option to hide a few things.

i.e. at the moment we can hide the beat matcher and the effects, I would just like to hide the mixer and the pitch faders as well.

Also having the smaller samplers just like in the library view, shouldn't be to difficult to implement.

It's obviously not for everyone, but I'm guessing there would be a few people who would like this feature.

Might it be you did not notice the minimized view of Cross. Use spacebar to toggle. Small decks and small sampler...

The FX and beatmatcher are a 'strip'.
Your suggestion is to change within a strip. As all buttons are positioned relative (due to all possible screen sizes and ratios), this would mean that buttons do move e.g. by stretching.

I just took the liberty to put in arguments why I think your suggestion should be given some additional thoughts as I believe the cons should be considered as well.

The devteam will judge in this.. Some shortterm other suggestions longterm. If you don't ask, they might not even be aware there are change wishes.

Ok I see what you mean.

I guess what I suggesting is a mix between the library view and the normal view. I just think there are some things on screen that don't need to be shown in many circumstances. Max library, and Max waveforms is what I'd like to see :-)

I hate to mention competitors, but Traktor's "Essential" view is a great example.

At the very least, it be great to be able to hide the mixer.
