It is not that I don't understand the other functions, just believe that it does not help me, as in a return on all the time to invest in tagging for this purpose. The current functions bring me there quickly. Main thing I do is always set my preview position at appx 20%-30%, so I always have the energy level of a track when listening split second. No need to wait for the intro.

Usually I have a couple of next tracks ready. The selection is not to keep the mood, but to be ready to change the mood or follow the changing mood.

Clicking, unclicking tags or so don't feel like getting a better result let alone sooner.

Might be based on the somewhat old school method of preparing with a stack of tapes winded to a track position or the sort order of vinyl.

And than the interpretation of the parameters for energy etc. as well as other definitions are not making it easier to use. I.e. different apps use different 'axes'.

What you say makes sense Rojec. I guess different people has different backgrounds and different methods :)

But at least I'm not the only one who thinks these kind of library management features has advantages. Digitaldjtips wrote an article about it (I've highlighted some parts for easy scanning) https://diigo.com/01ywxf

Also worth noting, Ean Golden from DJtechtools is involved in the project (check his tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_89saGWHGs#t=35 and article http://www.djtechtools.com/2014/04/14/f ... -software/)

I Follow Loois.

Add the ability to quickly scan through a track and be able to click pre-defined categories for mood, set time, and energy level. Be able to click buttons for the category instead of having to type, or cut/paste in a text box a format that you have personally generated. I have describe this in length here

http://forum.mixvibes.com/viewtopic.php?f=360&t=27160&hilit=+tags#p170942

I basically described months ago the same additions that were made to Beatport Pro in the last few weeks.

Well, it looks like Mixvibes has already built these features !!

Not in Cross but in Rekordbox ! I just downloaded the brand new released major upgrade 3.0 version and there are custom tags and matching functionnality

Check this:

http://rekordbox.com/fr/
http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2014/07/pi ... -software/

I've tested it a little and I think it's quite a good software. Very "Cross-looking". It seems to offer what beatport pro has to offer plus a lot more. I like the "related tracks" function and "my tag" (4 customizable tag dimensions).

So.. knowing that's a Pioneer software helping to prepare tracks for DJs, will Mixvibes let this set of features out of Cross ? Or at the contrary will they add it (now that they've built it) ?

Matching features has come to Cross in 3.3 !

It's not as flexible and extended as in Rekordbox as there are no custom tags and filters but it's a step in the right direction isn't it.

Will MV add custom tags in the future as well..?

I suggest using Rekordbox for the features you are looking for, and then updating your library in Cross afterwards. Be sure to have Rekordbox save the custom stuff in the tag. Also, if you use Apple lossless, your screwed because Rekordbox doesn't support it. Waiting for Cross to have these features. They are already found in Rekordbox and Beatport Pro. It seems like they are a wanted feature.

Just learned that beatport pro has the ability to do AIFF, MP4, and AAC files with the new update. So although it doesn't have the ability to sync like rekordbox, it will be the awesome that you are looking for. And free.

I'm Windows and Beatport pro is only Mac at the moment...

However, what do you mean by "Be sure to have Rekordbox save the custom stuff in the tag" ? To save custom "My tags" into comments?
