just curious as to why when you hide vid in gui you also lose the titler/pic browser control in the gui ,, seems not worth while since no gui space is freed up ,,think thats the intent of the hide vid tab ,,recommend changing to keep the titler/pic browser in the gui sinc its a nessary ciontrol and nothing is gained by removing it

That's because, if "hiding video" doesn't hide all video controls, it's not "hiding video"

The aim of this was to allow the user to get rid of all video stuff when he wants to focus on audio without completely disabling video (in preferences).

with out completely disabling video,

but you have disabled two of the video controls ,, the titler and pic browser ,so thease tools/controls are not avaible to use in this veiw,,,just suggesting it be re thought and maybe changed since the action of disabling vid in preferences does the same thing and leaving the controls visable still gives oppunity for use ,,,
