So you want the filter to operate as follows:
Filter set to extreme left- Passes all Low frequencies and kills Hi.
Filter set to middle-- Passes all frequencies
Filter set to extreme right-- Passes all Hi frequencies and kills Lows.

Not that I can provide the solution but I find the conversation interesting so I am just trying to understand your entry.

Extreme left = kills hi and leaves no bottom end at all. Perhaps this is actually something I've used to with my Korg Kaoss Quad units. Its filters kill the sound completely which I really like. Indeed this is apparently not the conventional way. Super handy though as you can fade out a song 100% with just a filter.

And in fact it is even more useful for HP side since you can erase the bottom end of a track and even fade out all the hi hats when going for the extreme setting, no need to use both a filter and the channel eq. Again this just feels convenient after I've gotten used to it. :)

EDIT

I dug up one device and had a go.. it sounded like this, to be honest

Hi-pass : let's some high frequencies through, my bad
Lo-pass: not a full kill but goes VERY low, you barely hear anything with headphones set very loud

So I guess it's just that the Kaoss Quad goes way low so it feels as if it killed all the sound. Cross doesn't go nearly as low since low pass all the way down you still can hear music even with laptop speakers.

So, I was partially wrong about the whole thing. Carry on!

New bi-filter basically goes as far as the typical Pioneer one goes.

OK cool, it must only be a matter of personal preference then. I also believe Korg might have introduced more overall volume/resonance recuction to avoid huge low end rumble.

All good then, thanks!
