Multiple and selectable video outputs

This is a combination suggestion for Cross and the video plug in.

If you are not sending video out because at the time you are not mixing video but you do own the video plug in, it would be helpful to output a window as an extension of the desktop of the library view.

That way you can have you deck view in one screen and the library view on a secondary screen at the same time. If you are mixing video you can always switch your output to the regular video for big screen display.

Also many laptops have more than one video output. For example my laptop has the regular screen plus an HDMI, an SVGA and a video port.

With multiple outputs I could

Laptop Screen
Output = Cross GUI (the decks)

HDMI output
Regular video (music videos and video loops as selected by the fader)

SVGA output
Local monitor for regular video (music videos and video loops as selected by the fader)

Video port
Expanded Library view

Yep,

Very good suggestion, but it must be remembered that not everyone necessarily has the ability to have multiple screens.

An intermediate solution might be possible, but is not yet in the pipeline .... ;)

I agree, however most (not all) medium to high end laptops nowadays have at least one video output that is an extension of the desktop. If at least and expanded view collection can be send then at a minimum one can have one screen with the decks and the other one with the expanded collection view. That by itself would be awesome.

The iPad remote could work as a library window too. Sort of.

I use a little app called A Display. It is like a second monitor over wi-fi to have a local monitor for the video display. This screen reacts to touch and it would be great to be able to switch it to the expanded collection view.
