Smart Folders
Posted: 17 Jul 2013, 10:07I would like the ability to create smart folders that will pass the criteria down to the smart playlists that are enclosed within
Also, if the smart folder is selected, it will show the entire contents matching the criterial of the folder. Similar to how a smart playlist works, but with the ability to house smart playlists under it.
As it stands, in order to have a bunch of playlists that filter out the same general category, you have to select the same criteria for each playlist, which makes the creation time consuming if you want to have crazy folder structures.
So, instead of having
filter to show house bangers
filter to show house tech
filter to show house popular
You would have
House smart folder
bangers
tech
popular
Pretty basic example, but it would be severely handy in the cases where you wanted to look for only music, not samples or video for an entire group of smartlists. Or if you wanted to separate your collection into whatever smaller pieces, but didn't want to spend hours putting in a criteria to 50 smartlists, that could be tackled easily by 5 smart folders.
