visualize auto-gain

can we represent the autogain setting in the actual mixer's gain?
would be awesome to see imo :)

move the gain-knob accordingly, or maybe like midi-takeover with a ghost.

That's not a good idea as the mixer gain is a 'live' control, can be changed anytime using a MIDI controller, etc.
Completely different from the track gain which is a static value.
Moreover the gain range is not the same for both values...

Agreed with the lack of a track gain display (as it used to be) but using (or merging with) the mixer gain is definitely a bad idea.
