I've spent the last couple of days mapping out the launchpad for CrossDJ (based on orig work by cinq). In my mappings, I keep pretty extensive comment/documentation about the changes and versions as well as labeling each section so that it can be reviewed easily at a later date or edited by somebody else.

The issue exists when I load the mapping back in to Cross, add input mappings in Cross, then export the XML back out ... all my comments are gone.

So the question is - is there any way NOT to discard the comments?

There's currently no way to have persistent comments in xml mappings.
But you're not the first to ask for!
