Cross, Cross DJ, Cross Mix/TC

Guys,

I am reading the forum every day, posting less, but reading everything of what you leave during the day. I come across a lot of entries in the "suggestions" section where a lot of different people are asking for a lot of different features. In fact I can see Cross blowing up with every release. Don't think I'm with stupid, this is normal behaviour, I know.

I think, that it is about time to "fork" another Cross version. There is Cross, the flagship, including everything. There is CrossDJ, including MIDI controller and all technical features, all except timecode.

Asking me it is time for a Cross Mix/TimeCode/whatever version. Why? From my point of view there is sooooooo much stuff included in the current Cross version I don't need while using it as a "scratch system". I don't need samplers, I don't need locators, I even don't need effects. Yes, bringing the argument that I can hide most of the stuff through view is okay, but the feature is still there, using CPU and RAM, the modules are loaded. I am currently using Cross 1.7.1, thinking about going back to 1.5.1. It has all I need. A stripped down version would be great in my opinion. Just for timecode purposes.

What do you think of it?

I agree,

No Sampler, No FX's, No Locators, just 1 or 2 Cue points.

That would do me just fine mate ;)

+1,

but on the other hand, if you dont use certain features they don´t consume cpu-power, at least not much.
That´s what I found with the latest updates.

  on the same thought pattern ,, either options to turn off certain features or if hiding then will allow for less cpu usage then thats acceptable ,,
 steve remember the problems with using a collection from 2.0 and above in versions earlier ,, take caution ,
 liked 1.7 also but no sampler ,, so it 2.0 and above for me ,,havent even looked at 2.3 yet
 and as a user  regerstered  you have the option of using any version ,,in the archived section of the download area
 maybe a poll of what Cross version you like /fits your need and why in gen chat  like we did in the implemtation of the fx set up

i was thinking exactly the same thing here.

i'm still using 1.7.1 here myself for my timecode purposes.

+1 from me

but 4 locators would be essential.

no updates on this? would it be difficult?
tested 1.7.1 today vs 2.3.1 and the have about 200mem difference and about 20% CPU just mixing and scratching.

I love the look and the layout of 2.3 more but i'm stuck with 1.7 here
