Smart folders would be greatly enhanced by being able to filter by 2 additional criteria
1) relative key
- say your track is in the key of C ( 8b in camelot, 8M in open notation)
- if you store your keys in the actual key, you could have a filter that matched by incrementing/decrementing/matching by 5ths
- if you store your keys in camelot or open notation, it would filter +1/-1/or same
2) deck selected key
- deck a has a song in the key of C, deck b has a song in the key of F
- highlighting deck a will influence the relative key filter to find only those that are within the criteria of the relative key filter
- same with deck b
It seems like it would be best implemented with a "Current Deck Key" filter that had the parameters of [matches, is in the range of, does not match.... etc.] and have the criteria be something like [key, key +1, key +2.... key -1, key -2]. This way you could still customize what shows up in each smart list.
If you wanted to have an "all compatible" list it would be "current deck key" is in the range of key -1 to key +1 (using camelot, much more software complication in normal key notation)
or if you wanted an "increase in energy" smartlist you could do "current deck key" is key +1
