Thanks all.

I found that if I stopped the Bonjour service, Cross really didn't like it. However if I disable the Bonjour service, Cross appears to recognise that and continues unabated.

bonjour is basically a network tool that has to be installed on win systems if u wanna use (any info/data) sharing over wifi. macs have it built in the os so osx users dont have to bother with that. thats why a lot of cross-platform software has bonjour in their win installers & mac installers dont
