2-level playlists

Hi

I find the organisation of tunes in Cross to be rather "flat".

At present I organise my tunes so that different genres are kept in different collections, and those that stray into more than one genre are put in more than 1 collection (from multiple copies of the same MP3 file in different directories) since the audio stops when switching collections.

In each collection I put about half a dozen tracks in different playlists, so each one has a "string of tunes that go together well". That works OK for now, but as collections grow it might become unwieldy.

It would be nice if the playlists had a 2-level hierarchy, where you could group them all together. That might then allow me to put everything into 1 collection.

Hey again.
you could use iTunes to make multiple playlists if that helps?
Cheers

Thanks - but would it be possible to do it without iTunes?

Could I do it by manipulating (hacking) a file? (e.g. if it's in XML)

Thankyou. I guess it's not ideal to refer to the Manual for Cross 1.6.1.......

The collection didn't change a lot, only the sample bank section was added.
The 2.0 version will be uploaded soon I guess.

You can also drag-drop playlist onto the dock.

All my EDM styles are into one collection, and I make playlists for every genre. So useful, and you can map controls on the keyboard to navigate these easily ;)

I have a huge collection with all my tracks included, and I find the Smartlists are the best for my needs. I have genres, decades, individual years, and bpm ranges...

Brilliant feature of the program. :D
