I've just been reading about the next release of Windows, version 8, and it's going to be released for an incredibly low price! The rumours are saying that it will be $40 for the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro, and $70 for the full version with discs. This seems like a bargain, and I imagine that there will be a few of us that will want to use it. My concern though, is compatibility - will Cross, and the other programs work on Windows 8? I've checked the Microsoft Compatibility Checker and there is no mention of any Mixvibes products on the site. I've checked my hardware and all seems to be okay, but again, no mention of Mixvibes hardware, for those that use it. With the release coming up quite soon, it might be a good idea for someone with more technical know-how than me, to see if there would be any problems. Here's the link to the site if anyone is interested: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/ ... enter/Home

I have to say that Windows 7 is about the best so far, but from what I've heard, Windows 8 is going to be even better! I won't upgrade if there's going to be compatibility issues though. I've read that Microsoft are going to be focussing a lot of attention on the multimedia capabilities of the new release, so it's possible that our programs will run even better than before...

Rumours have it you can get Win8 as an upgrade from Win7 for 15€ (~10GBP). Asking me you should stay with Win7 because I fear that Win8 will be comparable to Vista - unfortunately just a release into the right direction with a huge OS to follow. Just my 2 pennies

It not a rumour anymore. Buying a new PC/laptop you are getting a voucher/coupon with 15 euro (14,99) to buy windows 8.

I missed out - I bought my laptop back in March... All is not bad though, the upgrade only costs about £25.00 so that won't cost more than a night out!

Any more news on that? Uncle? sylMV? djegun? Is it true that multimedia in general is way better in Win8? If so, why and how?! Thanks!
