- the linux version does exist but not as advanced as the current Cross one. It's a part-time project and as long as we won't see commercial output, it will stay at this state.
- one of the dev own a Raspberry Pi, and I doubt it have enough power to handle such thing as Cross, but the guy who does linux know better than me I guess...
- CrossOS is what I'd like and CrossBook will surely locked everything to one single plateform (would make my life easier  ).

Love your though on all this and the whole discussion/experience, this will give weight to the ones that are lobbying internally. ;)

Many good ideas in this post... First step might be on Android if we walk on this direction... And then... There is so much to do to make leader the actual versions that you can't expect a quick reality...

We aren't strong enough to invest yet on more devs on new OS projects...
C'est la vie.

But Android? Because there is a huge market to grab a huge piece of? Or is Android developed by the iOS developers?

Here's the plan:

collect donations or do crowdfunding (very "hip" at the moment)

hire a computer science student interested in DJing - there should be at least one in Paris

let him build this by paying from the donations and crowdfunding money and let him use this work for his bachelor or master thesis

If it sucks you lost nothing, neither time nor money. If he succeeds you have got a win-win situation.

GO!

Brilliant idea! :D

I can't think of examples at the moment, but I've heard of other software projects that started this way.

+1 from me. ;)

Is there really bigger profit on androids than Linux?
DVS and CrossDJ have a big marketshare? Why not focus on Cross?
