Beat grid - not what you are thinking of ;)

Hello,

mybest friend moved from Traktor to Cross and as every "mover" he is looking for features he was used to. One if this is the beat grid but not in the running waveform but in the small waveform above the loop and effect controls.
Reason for him to suggest it is that he can see a track's build up i.e. if a break is starting at 1:30 minutes he knows when to start the transition. Till now ha can see that a break is coming but because of no other info, i.e. on the track length, he can not time the transition.

Hopefully anybody else sees it as important as he does and the developers think so too ;) He would be happy!

Thanks,

Steve

Beat-grid as in traktor, or just minute markers?

Anyway, just listen to the mu5ic

"Just" minute markers, nothing dynamic, just a grid in 30 seconds distance

We had a discussion about this later, and a griding system (be it visible or not) is absolutely needed for the futur.

also a "snap" function would be nice, hot-cues are always in the right position then...

dude, just hit the damn btn in the right time and there you go, you just "snapped" it there! in case you miss it, well, we re all humans afterall and make mistakes sometimes, its forgettable i think. and thats exactly the beauty of it imho
dunno why people want a software/computer to mix instead of them.. whats a DJ for then? ;)

ps. there are a lot of producers (for example in hiphop but lately this trend appeared in electronic music as well!) who do not set the beats/melodies/basslines/whatever to an exact timegrid to make their tunes more "wonky" and create an atmosphere that its not made by a machine, but more like a human live act or something

+1 for Boc!

It´s what seperates us from machines, in ancient times people called it the "groove". Mostly forgotten today.

True story

no need for laughter homie, im a truly simple, oldschool guy. only reason i switched to a timecode setup is that i got tired of lifting and carrying ton heavy record bags..
