Creating Unique Flash Animation for Vfx:


You have supplied .swf files for the use of the dynamic Flash text but is it possible to supply the original Flash .fla files to us?

I ask because, although I am not an expert, I use Adobe Flash for creating basic touch-screen interactive kiosk information and have a small working knowledge of Flash creation. I am very keen to create my own animated styles but am not sure how the text is input into Flash via Vfx or the technique used for overlaying this on the live video. Is it a Flash Alpha background? What are settings, etc.

Knowing how the supplied swf's look in the Flash software would mean I could create more custom Flash files for myself and the Mixvibes Community.

Is it possible for you to release the .fla (Flash Project Files)?

If not, (because of third-party licensing issues, etc.) can you supply a tutorial or pointers towards the basics of what happens when you input text through Vfx and how this relates to Flash Alpha background, inputting dynamic text, etc?

if you re using a lot of flash while vjing, i recommend you to use an swf decompiler to get access to their sources cuz i think no other people will be so nice as the mv team to provide you the original fla files (of course these dont work all the time, and according to my small knowledge on flash swf files could be protected too, but still, theres a high chance that you can work with them)

Thanks for the info. I didn't know ther was such a thing - I'll try it out.

As an update, I have modifed some of the originally supplied files. I don't fully understand the way the text part works but can easily create shaoe and animations to go under or over them.

When I have something worth showing you all I'll post some. This should be in the next couple of days.

I've been working hard to get to grips with the flash files and have been working on some new effects. I have learned a lot!


I have a problem with my Vfx controller at present and am trying to sort the issue out on another thread in this forum. This has meant I am re-installing/uninstalling Vfx, ASIO, MIDI Drivers, etc. Consequently, I can't test my new Flash Plugins to see if they work as intended.



As soon as my issue is resolved I will test them as video overlays and let you guys test them out for feedback.


Here's a description of a few of the ones I have made so far:

1 - A very simple 'scratched and dusty film' effect.
2 - A 'Trainspotting'-style movie text effect.
3 - An 80's Max Headroom-style Neon lines effect.
4 - An all-out, attention-grabbing, flashing, glitchy text effect.
5 - A 'Lower Third' text crawl - for announcements or special offers.
6 - Some modifications to the existing Vfx Flash plugins.

Once I have my Vfx and controller problems sorted - I'll be back to share my work with you.
