Can I turn off quantize in samplers?

Postby synaptic flow on 23 Apr 2014, 19:47

I have a question. I want to trigger samples as soon as I press a button. I want to be the one in control of the timing.

Is there a way to turn off the quantize feature so the samples will play instantly and every time i hit a button on my controller?

Thanks.

yes, disable or reduce the value.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

your right. this is overall.
I would recomment to use a low value rather than disable. (<=1).
It could be your use is more specific. But normally with 1 or less you'll will hardly notice (i.e. you must be pretty experienced to do it better by hand).

Well I use to do live P.A. performances of drum and bass and house music for years before I was ever a DJ. I was always playing samplers and keyboards by hand.

I want the risk of having to get timing right and possibly messing up live. That's what makes it more "LIVE" I don't want the software doing everything for me.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. I'll look over the GUI and try to figure out what you're saying. I didn't see a value that could be changes in the preferences menu.

You likely have the timing in your fingers...
It is not in preferences but in the permanent header bar (values next to quant and snap).

I would recomment to play around a little. There is a fair chance that even with low values Cross puts it even more tight to the beat, or at least avoids 'in between'.

(my fingers do not seem to understand musical sensitivity and are relying on this feature  )
