Are you seeing at Cross both players? or just one of them? Maybe the other player is not recognised at your computer or Cross.

To your last post there I have a next question: Are all three devices (Soundcard and both cd player) connected to the same USB bus? maybe your bandwidth of the usb bus if full so the soundcard can't be used. Are you getting a message besides the OS like that your bandwidth is not enough? or something else?
