Dusting off my DVS Ultimate

Hi all,

I have had my Mixvibes Ultimate for some time now and due to the current global issues, I have some time to play around with it.

My problem is that I have the licence key etc.. but the installation disc is not working. I have tried copying the Program Files from my old (very slow) laptop to an external harddive but no avail. Also tried copying the disc to USB but the disc is not liked by any of my laptops.

Does anyone have any solutions, bar purchasing new software.

Cheers,

If you try to use it for W7 or later you really should consider trying the Cross Demo version (different from Cross Free). The last build of Ultimate is completely outdated.

The first issue you ran into is that the installer method is obsolete..

Thanks for coming back to me.

Yes, I gave Cross a go... not really much you can do when the program closes after 10 mins. That is really frustrating when you’re starting to enjoy mixing records again.

Is there no other way to actually get full working software without having to spend around £100? I get that Ultimate is a legacy product. But there must be something that Mixvibes can do to help a very part time bedroom DJs like myself. It’s a bit of a kick in the knackers to have to pay for the initial set up, then have to fork out a similar amount for software.

Out of interest, does the Mixvives vinyls etc... work with other software, like Traktor etc..?

Well development of software costs money. Though there is afaik only 1 pretty good free version.

By making this step you can do it in one step, whereas users having followed the Cross version have had to pay multiple times for new releases/features.

The vinyl's of the manufacturers usually vary in used 'control' frequency. Afaik tractor and serato do not support the Cross frequency.
