Cross crashes even before it starts

Hi guys,

I recently dicovered a serious issue with Cross. Here is the background: I have Cross 3.4.3 installed on two laptops, both are running Win 10, 64-bit. One laptop (let's call it Batman) is my main performance laptop, the other one (let's call it Robin) is my backup and experimental one. Some months ago, I installed a SSD drive in Robin to make it faster. Works fine. Last week I wanted to use my Denon MC 6000 again with Robin and Cross, but I couldn't get the sound card to work. So I installed Asio for Denon and since then I can't get Cross to run anymore. I reinstalled the softwar but didn't work. I uninstalled that Asio for Denon driver, didn't help.

Now, I'm lost. I like Croos because I can mix videos and I like to have/use a software apart from Traktor.

I read that deleting the setting file might help to reset Cross to default? Any other suggestions?

that's the thing to do. it's not deleted by uninstall as this is not allowed in Windows.

Can somebody please help me?!

Since I installed an internal SSD-drive Cross 3.4.3 is not working anymore. After I install Cross, I don't get asked about the licence key and therefore, I can't continue. All I get is a note. "Cross is not working correctly". When I do get aked for the license key, any key I put in is "Invalid".

I bought a Cross DJ license, a Cross upgrade, the video-plugin and even a new Cross license but nothing is working.

I'm about to lose it with Cross.

Might be you did it, but just to be sure that you didn't just 'read' it.
If Cross doesn't start this is typical the mixvibes.settings file.

No need to do anything else but to remove this file. Unless you copied the installation form your hdd to your ssd. In that case it might be better to uninstall Cross, then remove the mixvibes. settings file. Then use a registry cleaner (like ccleaner) before reinstalling. Please make sure to use the license key that is for the same cross-type installation (so Cross for Cross or Cross DJ for Cross DJ)

Hope this somehow works.

W T F !!! That truly did the job!!! IT IS ALIVE!

I just had to open the Windows explorer, do a search for "settings" and sure enough there was a mixvibes.settings - file. Deleted it - start Cross again and there it is. Working as beautifully as it has.

Thanks!!! :D :D :D
