Settings Cross on PC keep frozen after disconnected Pioneer

Postby Frans on 20 Nov 2017, 19:20

I connected the Nexus 2000 on the PC with Cross 343. Every function was parallel working. Change the settings on the Nexus (vinyl brake function). While te player was going on, I tip on the start/stop button on the Nexus. The player of the Nexus and Cross stopped slowly. So, OK. After disconnecting the Nexus, I use the start/stop on the PC again. Now the player of Cross also stop slowly. I tried the FX button of Cross on/off, but this one is not is activated. Is there a possibillity like a refresh or how can i fix this, without connect te Nexus again.

Try changing the FX in Cross for that deck to something else than brake. Might still be the cause.

Hi RoJeC

i already did. But it seems like an "Cross under skin" setting between Cross and the Nexus, which not is the same like the Cross FX Brake function.
Cause, when i change the settings of the the brake function on the Nexus, the setting of the Cross FX doesn,t react.

I solved this issue by editing the Mixvibes.settings file (C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\MixVibes).

<VALUE name="Brake Time A" val="5999"/>

Changed into:
<VALUE name="Brake Time A" val="0"/>

Great you found this. Still doesn't really explain why it's being applied.

Given your solution you might want to try to solve this by selecting the Brake FX and then use the knob faders in the Cross interface. The knob state is the value that you modified. You'll have to check yourself which of the 2 knobs it is (unless you've set to use 1, which while typing makes me think that this might be your problem... Interface using 1 knob and HID using 2 so it seems like you did all you could while the hidden knob still has impact..).

Editing the settings file isn't recommended as it might easily effect more when not done right.

Hi guys and a big thanks to RoJeC for helping troubleshoot this issue.

@Frans: This issue most likely has to do with the Player Start and Stop knobs on the 'General' page in the settings. These are different then the brake FX and are what the CDJ brake adjustment knobs are controlling. I am not 100% sure, but these are most likely linked to the values you changed in the .settings file.

After looking at the settings file indeed the value you changed is as Adam mentions. Has nothing to do with FX.

Now it works I can only recommend to always release Brake FX, even if all works as you might switch back to the deck finding it to ' not work' as the brake is still on.

Thanks for al reactions:

Resume:
Before disconnecting the Nexus (in combination with the PC with Cross), always turn the Nexus start and brake function to 0. Because this settings will be freezed at the Cross side.
After disconnecting the Nexus you can't change the settings of the FX brake by the Cross program. Then the only way is connect the Nexus again and change the start and brake to 0 or change the Mixvibes settings file like i did. When i have more time, I will connect/disconnect the Nexus and check more settings.
