In Cross DJ Preferences, under "Display", there is a check box for "Support Compilation Ordering". What is that?

If I recall right by this in some of the sortings, like album, the tracks remain in order of the column tracknr (of CD).

So you can play albums that have tracks but are basically non stop in the right order.
