Need a pitch fader for U-Mix Control Pro

Postby Faizel M on 03 Jun 2017, 21:50

Hi There.
Hope somebody can help. Im in need of a pitchfader for my U-Mix Control Pro.Some stupid spilled red wine on the right pitch fader causing the right player's pitchfader to malfunction during playback. I had to remove the pitchfader from the circuit board...Now I'm desperately looking for a replacement. Can anybody assist or might Temple of Deejays be able to supply a spare part. I'm unfortunately in South Africa.
Please help
Faizel M

Thanks Daniel.

At least I managed to stop the continuous pitch jumping when I removed. I browsed the internet and that the Pioneer DDJ Wego has they same pitch fader under its hood. Im just waiting on the detailed specs from Instrumentalparts.com. Will let you know if it works.

Cheers

The hardware staff is gone for a long time, so don't hold your breath.

But maybe you're lucky and someone somehow can answer it... Wouldn't bet on it...

Since the one that is out is defective, your best bet is to get the good one out of circuit and measure the resistance in 3 positions.

Position 1 one end
Position 2 the other end
Position 3 middle

3 measurement per position
lead 1 to center
lead 2 to center
Lead 1 to lead 2

your measurement should run from 0 ohms to max open.
The measurement of the max open resistance = Z impedance which should also be a constant measure from lead 1 to lead 2
All these measurement should be don out of circuit in order to be accurate and the resulting data should allow you to identify a suitable replacement.

Thanks Figdj.

Just a qeustion. The values printed on the Mixvibes original part (pitchfader)is 20kbm2x2. The only replacement pitchfader I found with the exact footprint to fit the circuit board is that of the Pioneer DDJ Wego but its values is 10kbm2x2. Will this work? :?:

I don't know what that label means in relation to electronics and I am an electrical engineer. perhaps you should post a couple of pictures of the parts.

Hi Figdj

Me neither but for some reason a technician at local parts store found that description important but they also didnt have the exact replacement part in stock.

I'll just explore the Pioneers Wego pitchfader. It seems to be the only option.

Will let you know if it works...
