Computer lag while analyzing

Postby guitarplaya608 on 04 Jan 2017, 20:03

Hey everyone,
After the most recent update, one of my two computers now lags ALOT while analyzing tracks or sometimes when loading a track into a deck. It actually takes so much processing power, that it will start to make the active player deck freeze while a song is playing. I never had this problem on previous versions. I tried just analyzing the entire library prior to playing live, but that doesn't help for songs downloaded on-the-spot and like I said, even loading a track into a deck slows the active player. I even had the software crash once. I'm sure it could be a coincidence (failing HDD or something at the same time), but Traktor and VDJ seem to run fine on that computer, and the latest update works great on my other laptop. Any tips?

Increase the latency of your sound card till the level you don't have audio dropouts.
Cross gives the screen refresh lowest priority (audio, video, GUI).

If analysed track are being analyzed upon loading to deck once more there is something else wrong. Please let's know so we can advice on this.

Are you using an Asio driver? If not please change to asio.

Also excluding tracks and analyses folder from your antivirus will reduce load on CPU.

Cross itself (so not meaning the sound card) can work with a lower latency than most other DJ software, so it reveals limitations of components sooner...

Which Cross version ar eyou using? latest is 3.4.2

Audio dropouts? Increase audio 'buffer size' value.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).
