How to use a microphone with CrossDJ

Postby Jacob Guldager on 21 Dec 2016, 15:50

Hi

I plugged in a USB microphone to my macbook. I cannot figure out how to use it in CrossDJ?

Thanks,

Cross doesn't really have the option to use a mic. If you have a controller you usually can use the mic via the controller.

However what you could try is to use it as a line input of a deck.
Preferences > Audio for input 1 and input 2
In the overall GUI use the A/B buttons in the mixer part to change the input from deck to Line (don't use phono!).

If you use an external sound card you may have to use the 'aggregate' function of OSX to join your soundcards.

To be on the safe side make sure you have 'limiter enabled' checked.

By this setup you have it for 1 deck; so you can't play the deck for the time your using the mic. A kind of workaround would be to use deck C and or D for playing your tracks.

Maybe if you explain some more of your setup some more suggestions are possible.

Audio dropouts? Increase audio 'buffer size' value.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).
