Envivo USB DJ Controller + CrossDJ LE 2.6.0

Hi Newbie to this forum, so please bear with me.

I am a multi-instrument musician and semi-pro MIDI composer and an ex technical IT Manager with a few queries, please?
1.) Unlike the many other forums I am in, I seem to be highly limited to the groups I can post in at the moment, hence this first one in General Chat which is one of the few that gave me a New Post option?
2.) I bought the Envivo USB DJ Controller + CrossDJ LE 2.6.0 from Aldi for a bit of fun and have only had one day using it!
3.) I soon found that it just would not work with an XP PC and have CrossDJ LE 2.6.0 loaded on my Vista laptop. (It is not on my W7 PC as this has multiple soundcards, internal synths and a Line 6 UX2 unit for my guitars as well as multiple sequencers and I wanted as few complications as possible)
4.) I have watched numerous YouTube tutorials and read (most of) the user manual as well as searched your FAQs.
5.)Having achieved a mix with 4 deck parts (two with four onboard samples each), I managed to record the output successfully.

6.) The BIG question: Having got a chosen set of samples and sounds loaded, I used the option to "Save Collection As" test1.crossdb......assuming that when re-opened that would bring up the same set of samples and settings on screen that I had used for the recording. It doesn't....so how do you get back to the exact samples and sound files that were loaded for the recording please?

TIA and please move the post if appropriate!

Vigman

PS Forgot to say that the code that I entered in order to use the hardware and software was flagged up as invalid in my forum profile. I got others to check and this was apparently correct!?

 well welcome to mixvibes and Cross DJ ,, the issue with not bein able to post in other topic pages is due to not being regerstered on the fourm,,
p m users uncle vibes and or teammixvibes with the info as to your invalid licence key #,,,,they should be able to sort it out ,,then regerster first chance ,,
i think you are trying to use a collection as a playlist ,,not the same ,,you want the playlist to be able to reproduce the recorded mix ,,a collection is a set up of tracks to use as a collection ,,
you also can set up sample banks and label then to your particuliar needs thease will be saved ,
bot shure if this helps ,, more :?: more answers to the best of our ability

Thanks, Daniel.

I'll PM the 'invalid' licence number to those folks as suggested!

It may be because this is a deck bought in the UK (from a German store: Aldi!)

I am so used to sequencer (MIDI and virtual module) handling that I have now to get to grips with 'collections' and 'playlists'....it was only the first day!
Thanks again

Hi,

I've used MixVibes HOME 7 for a while, and also bought the Envivo USB DJ controller from Aldi! I have little experience with MIDI devices, but a good technical background.

I figured the bundled CrossDJ LE would pretty much plug and play with the unit, but although Win7 recognises it as a device called MIDI 8, there is no communication evident. If I go to File-Properties in CrossDJ I get no MIDI tab, and if I ask to "Import Controller Mappings" under the Keyboard tab, the software seems to be looking for a .mappings or .mappings.xml file which I don't have.

In HOME 7, Going to Preferences - Options, on the MIDI tab, If I activate the device MIDI 8, I get a message that "MIDI driver not found".

What should I be doing next? Do I need a MIDI driver or a MIDI mappings file, and if so, shouldn't this have been supplied in the box from Aldi?!

Many thanks for any help you can give...

John
