Yes i have done the firmware upgrade. The controller works like it should, exept i have not figured out how to change deck A to C and B to D. The buttons A/C and B/D just syncs. Tahks DJRicoche without you we would not have working vms4.1 for Cross DJ.
I wish I could be of more help, but I no longer have my American Audio VMS 4.1 - I got a screaming deal on a Vestax VCI 400 and couldn't pass it up. I would contact American Audio directly, as their customer support has been exceptional (in my opinion) and they can usually walk you through everything to make sure you have flashed the new firmware properly, etc.
I have contacted them, they send me firmware (same as yours) and i have uploaded it with your "uploader tool". The operation take 1 second, it seems very short for me... I m not sure that firmware is uploaded but i have tested operation 2 times and it's the same thing... I have also imported your mapping in Cross but i'm not sure that is really in... How can i verify theses 2 things?
One thing seems strange to me too... Firmware uploader says that firmware files are ".bin" and yours is ".syx"...?
AA support cannot more help me because they support only NI and VDJ...
First, a dumb question. Are you using a Mac, or PC? The firmware upgrade needs to be done on a PC. I do recall it being a very quick process.
As far as the mapping goes, the VMS 4.0 mapping included with Mixvibes works with the contoller after the firmware update - My mapping is virtually identical to the original, I just made some minor tweaks.
If you want to map things differently, you can duplicate the original mapping using the (x2) button, then make changes and save it. For those of you with the A/C and B/D button issue, just change the mapping... I only use C and D for samples, so I trigger mine with sampler buttons and control volume with the deck C & D faders (no need for jog control, etc)
