Installing the Firmware update below makes the American Audio VMS 4.1 FULLY FUNCTIONAL in Cross!!!

You simply flash the firmware to this "Mixvibes" version, and then use the "VMS 4" template in Mixvibes - if you wish to customize MIDI mappings, simply duplicate the original config, then tweak as you please! A HUGE shout out to the folks at American Audio for making this happen, and happen quickly!

MAKE SURE THAT THE POWER ADAPTER IS CONNECTED TO THE VMS4.1 AND THE POWER IS ON WHEN PERFORMING THIS UPDATE. FIRMWARE UPDATES ARE DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

IF ANYONE KKOWS HOW I CAN UPLOAD THE FILES ABOVE TO THE MIXVIBES FORUM SITE, THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL! i AM ALSO WILLING TO UPLOAD A COPY OF MY MIDI MAPPING, WHICH ONLY HAS SOME MINOR CHANGES TO THE ONE FROM AMERICAN AUDIO.

Since the VMS 4.0 has an official mapping, and you said you didn't change too much of it, it's possible you could just post the changes and with the above file, there would be an official VMS 4.1, or at least a user 4.1 with all the necessities.

I usually post Dropbox links to files if I need the gurus to look at em, or google drive, or box, or whatever your weapon of choice is.

Hey, thanks for the Kudos. It's working great, been messing with it all night, and tweaking a few things here and there, but all in all I'm pretty happy! Most of the credit goes to the folks over at American Audio though - they did all the hard stuff behind the scenes lining up the MIDI mappings with the MIDI mappings of the VMS4. I will post my MIDI mappings shortly to the cloud and hopefully we can get it added to the forum at least!

Just bought a VMS 4.1 on clearance with no software. I downloaded Cross DJ and MOST of the controls work. Jog wheels and some others do not. I wish to do the firmware update. How do I do it on a 13" MacBook Pro? My OS doesn't recognize .exe files. Thanks.

Do you have a friend or a work computer that you can do the firmware upgrade on? Or, you could install any windows OS as a dual boot on your mac, but it would be way simpler to just find someone who has a windows machine.

I recommend you contact American Audio support. They are VERY helpful and quick to respond. That's how I got the updated firmware to begin with.

How can i map the A/C and B/C deck change buttons to work like they should? If someone has mapping that has this fuction i would appreciate If you would share it.

Have you done the firmware upgrade for the controller? If you haven't, contact American Audio support, and they will provide you with the firmware and software to install it to your VMS.
