Video fader external mixer

Hi i have a question about the video plugin.

My setup is a Numark Mixdeck Express (so external mixer) and a NI Kontrol X1. I was wondering what kind of mapping you are using for those who have an external crossfader that can't be mapped internaly for the video transition

A button ? A knob ?

I tried to map both but it was either not working or not very precise so maybe i'm doing something wrong and was wondering if some of you could help me with this.

Thanks :)

I think this is how it would work for an external mixer. Moderator please feel free to correct my comment if needed.

You would have to map a MIDI controller to use the following command

In&Out fam(Video)[0x1].VideoOnlyCrossFade (Normal)
== "Video Only Crossfader (Bypass State Mode)"

You can map a fader or a rotary knob that is not an endless encoder.
