Controlling all 4 decks and samplers with UMCP-2

Hi everyone!

I don't really know which is the correct part of the forum for this so I try here.

I am very happy an excited. As I was doing some of my little coding and mapping investigations and I found a way to make the UMCP-2 switch between players and samplers with the touch of a button. (perhaps someone did it before but it is a 1st for me)

You can play all 4 decks, 3 decks and 1 sampler or the normal 2 decks and 2 samplers.

Nothing that would void any warranties just some creative MIDI mapping using shift modifiers.

Details on how to implement and a finalize 4 deck capable mapping for UMCP-2 coming in the next couple of days.

Here it is.

A mapping for UMCP2 that control all 4 decks

Mode 1
Normal Mode
Deck A with 8 locators and 8 sample pads
Deck B with 8 locators and 8 sample pads

Mode 2
Deck A with 8 locators
Deck B with 8 locators and 8 sample pads
Deck C with 8 locators

Mode3
Deck A with 8 locators and 8 sample pads
Deck B with 8 locators
Deck D with 8 locators

Mode4
Deck A with 8 locators
Deck B with 8 locators
Deck C with 8 locators
Deck D with 8 locators

You must swith the decks on first. Either use the GUI by changing the input mode for decks C and D or use
Shift + BassKillA = Swith Deck C on or off
Shift + BasskillB = Swith Deck D on or off

The decks and locator/sample banks are activated with the mapping as follows:
Shift + TrebbleKillA activates deck C
The - bend light on the left will blink
Shift + TrebbleKillB activates deck D
The + bend light on the right will blink

Shift + MidKillA activates expanded locator/samples for deck A or C
The jog led on the left will blink
Shift + MidKillB activates expanded locator/samples for deck B or D
The jog led on the right will blink

Anytime you use the kill swithches on decks C and D the indicator will blink rather than the normal steady on as a reminder that there is a kill switch activated for the extra decks.
I am still trying to figure out hardware takeover for the pitch faders.

Light indicator are limited. I will welcome any constructive feedback and new ideas. If you like it let me know and perhaps send some Karma He! He!

If you have any questions or need some help please let me know.

hello

the mapping is realy nice. However I have the U-Mix Control Pro 1 and not the 2 with 4 locator buttons. Could you may be upload a mapping for the u mux control 1 with 6 locator buttons. I tried to do it by myself but failed. I basicly want to keep the original mapping but use kill bassA +shift to jump to deck C and kill bassB+shift to jump to deck D.
is there any simple way of mapping this.

the kill base on both sides only swithches the GUI from 2, 3 or 4 dec operation, it does not activates the mapping. Activating the mappin is done by Shift Kill treble. I can map the additional deck activation to shift + monitor for the function but you will loose the input mode for A and B. If you are willing to part with the input mode function I can do it that way. let me know.

Daniel

That is certainly possible. There is a cost however, in this case you would loose the ability to do a smart seek search using the jog wheel.
