High cpu usage does not come from antivirus but it's coming from Cross in combination (probaly) with an old cpu. I have noticed and discussed here that loading a track rises up the cpu usage in, sometimes, 90% - 100%. This never happens in 1.5.5. All these happens in all versions of Cross after 1.5.5. Unfortunately, 'cause i really like the Ver.2, I still use only 1.5.5 for all my lives set. viewtopic.php?f=302&t=24282&p=151947&hilit=loading+track#p151947Stelios, Greece

Wow, now that are news! I can remember recognising significant changes in the CPU stress since an earlier version. It could have been 1.5.5, I am not sure. Nevertheless we should all have in mind that there are a lot of features in now which use (more) CPU and RAM. I am with you Stelios, if the gig is in danger I would stick to an older version too!!! I will try to install an older one to have a comparison! Thanks!

yes was part of the info put out after every version update since installed ver 1.32,,all of the above is true and noticiable,,,understand all the different attritubutes nessary to run the program sussfully,,, trying to keep a bench mark set up to qualify any statments,,, still love Cross and enjoy its use ,just fearful that it will become such a beast only high pwr/newest computers can run it ,, shuting off its use in less friendly/ less powerful set up,, eliminating the potential of begineers using the software steve still have every version from 1.32 installed and operational

Thats the best you can do. BTW without mastertempo I still find it quite easy on the CPU. But as a mix-dj you're dependent on it I guess. But coming from TTs (turntables, not titties) I don't use it anyways

I only started with v1.7, and to be honest, I haven't noticed much difference at all between that and 2.0.1. However, I don't use all of the features like the sampler - when I start using those it might make a difference. I'll be testing the new version properly at a gig this Saturday - I am confident that everything will be fine, however I still have my Cross DJ 1.7 as a backup, just in case. ps. Have the official minimum specs been published? I've looked but can't find them...

It depends, I mean "casual" DJs using records don't have the chance for a master tempo. So turning it off would not make a difference. But why not using the feature?

Bigger engine with more power mean more fuel consumption... but more fun !
