I was at a gig tonight and suffered badly! I played a few random tracks to test the system and set up the sound, and then tried to load a large warm-up mix into Cross, but it totally crashed my PC. I then rebooted, and tried it again with the same results...
Is there an issue with large files/long tracks in Cross?
It was only a 1 hour mix that I use, and it worked perfectly in Cross DJ 1.7 on many of my other gigs.
After 2 rebootd I decided to fall back on my old VDJ system, but I was not happy with it - I prefer Cross so much more, but need reliability when doing live gigs.
I'll try my best to re-create the problem and see if it is just a one-off...

I have just loaded a 4 hour mix into my collection and player A afterwards. It took some time until I could use Cross again, tha fan is running on maximum speed and the analysation seems to take hours, but unfortunately no crash :-( Maybe the MP3 is corrupt?
Edit: Even if I am loading another 2 hour mix into deck B it takes some time again, the window gets the message ("No response...") but after a time it is loaded and I could play it. The running 4 hour set had no drop outs during that time :-/ sry!

The 1. time i played with the new Cross I also had a crash while loading a 1 hour mix. But I couldn´t reproduce the crash. Now, all tracks are playing fine, also the long ones.

Hey Kev. You done complete malware / virus scans of late? get malware bytes(free) for a comprehensive scan just to make sure... or it could just be a HP thing ????? just like the year tagging issue??? Put a 3hour set into mine, took ages to analyse like Steve said, but its on my crappy duo core, but it played fine in the end... Did you have any other programs running in the background also when it happened? Cheers

Try to set the cache of CROSSDJ in the preferences menu. Maybe the cache is too small to handle a large track.
Try that one to set it in the preferences.

Virus/Malware protection active and up-to-date and computer scanned. No other programs were running, all unwanted services were disabled (internet etc)
Audio cache is set at 60% (3.66Gb)
All files are in mp3 format and have been tested on other programs. The lengths vary between 1 and 4 hours - all produce the same result.
Last night I was using an external soundcard, so I've tried both that and the internal soundcard - the result is the same. After testing it seems that any track over about an hour crashes the program.
Thanks for the responses guys.

how were the tracks made ,what software, can you have a file ready to give to support to test out .., do you have a means to see what your cpu /ram usage is when this occures,,,,,maybe just fishing ,set up a playlist with same tracks and record them with Cross and see if that will crash the software also,, think this is a newer computer , if you have Cross on your old one try it with that computer to see .. just suggestions to figure out where the problem lies,,,we whant you using your Cross less chance of you getting the wrong tattoo
