Hi guys,
i just downloaded spotify and like it very much. I will buy a premium account and was wondering if i can use spotify with Cross?
I think this would be very great because when playing the music within a club and someone wants to hear a sont that i dont have in my library i can quickly download and play it.
Kind regards

The Spotify tracks which you download we not play in Cross
Yes, i can play them within the spotify software, thats correct. But i want to mix them with Cross. I think this would be like the iTunes integration a huge advantage for all djs using Cross. Think about having such a big music collection whenever you want...

Spotify is the way it is for a reason-its protected, and i dont think you could get tracks out of the system anyways Jim B wrote:I beleive you can only play the Spotify tracks in the Spotify software. The Spotify tracks which you download we not play in Cross
As Jim says, this is true. iTunes and spotify are completely different ideas of music playback; where one plays purchased or stored tracks within your library in mp3 or similar format, and the other is an on demand radio station type, where the tracks are encrypted, and stored on your computer in a spotify read only format. You can still just buy a track off iTunes,or beatport or wherever now anyway if you have a connection to the internet (while playing). Yeah - spotify is way cheaper...but i dont think its gonna happen somehow Cheers

Interesting topic I'm pretty sure that the issue here would be licencing: 3. Grant of license
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to make personal non-commercial use of the Spotify Software Application (including a right to download said application) and the Spotify Service and to receive by stream (and, where you have purchased the Premium Service or the Mobile Service, by conditional download), and in the case of the purchase of A-La Carte Downloads or Download Bundles, to receive Permanent Downloads of the media content made available through the Spotify Service in your home country. You do not have a right to transfer or sublicense your rights under this Agreement. Third party components included in the Spotify Software Application are licensed to you either under this Agreement, or under the relevant third party component license terms, as applicable, and published in the help section of the Spotify Software Application.
So many people have been asking for this sort of thing, in various different DJ programs, but it looks like it's never going to happen. It's a pity though, as it would be great for requests.

I know a guy who always takes 2 laptops with him, one to play the music, and the 2nd for playing any requests for songs he hasn't got. How does he do it? He plays songs from Youtube through his system - all because he's too cheap to buy his own music!
