Error with U-Mix Control Pro (solved)

Postby Varshan on 11 Mar 2012, 20:42

Hi All

I recently bought a U-Mix Control Pro and installed it and everything worked fine. I had a version of Cross DJ le that came with another MIDI controller and Cross. After I unistalled the Cross DJ le the Cross version gives me an error when I try to select the audio interface. The error is as follows "In use by another process close all other processes and try again.

Please help and thanks in advance

Hey,

please check if some other programs are running which could have opend the device like Windows or other audio programs.

Please also give us some more details. Have you reboot the computer after uninstallation?

regards
Christian

Restarted the machine after the uninstall.

Would it be a good idea to uninstall everything and then try again?
I did notice that when I go to the speaker icon at the bottom right of windows the default soundcard is the U-Mix Control Pro, could this have anything to do with it.

True,

when Windows set the U-Mix Control Pro as default device it is in use from windows so Cross can't use the device. It helps to shutdown the computer unplug the device or turn it off and after windows has boot up completly you can plug in or turn on the device than it shhould not be set as default device.

I have restarted the machine with the controller unplugged. Windows does not pick it up as the default soundcard.

But I still get the same error, I also noticed that none of the MIDI controls work although it is switched one.

I cannot load tracks with the browse button etc, but Cross says the device is online. I am lost.

You could try or have you installed the latest Driver/Control Panel for the device. If not I would start there.

You can download from here

Tried that as well as the latest firmware for the controller as well and the latest update for Cross.

OK unistalled all mixvibes software, found all mixvibes folders and deleted, found all registry entries and deleted. Restarted all audio servicesin windows, restarted machine.

Installed all latest drivers software for mixvibes and restarted machine. The plugged in the MIDI controller and got the same error. The asio U-Mix soundcard not set a default and cannot find any processes using the controller. Did this using a tool that checks dll lock file.

So what next…apart from reload windows!

Hi
This looks like an usb conflict
What usb device(s) are connected to your PC ?
Did you at some time connect another usb sound card, which may have left some driver still active ?

Nothing else is plugged in, made sure that there are no conflicts in the device manager as well.

When I re installed the controller all went fine and installed successfully.
So not sure where to look?
