Hi, Purchased the Ion Discover DJ package, hooked it up to laptop and then found out that with the sound card on the laptop I can only put sound out to speakers or headphones but not both at the same time , which does not enable me to cue up tracks via the headphones. Bit of research and I have came across the Numark DJ/IO audio interface. Is this compatiable with the Discover DJ and Mixvibes Cross LE software? so that I can send the mix to the main speakers and have a separate channel for my headphones to cue up my next track?? I hope this is the bit of kit that saves the day for me Thanks in advance.

You need a 2 (stereo) Channel audio interface which supports ASIO

Wished the sales rep knew what he was talking about when I purchased it. I did question the ability to be able to cue a track via headphones as the display model did not have a headphone jack and he said it was just a case of plugging in headphones on your laptop, quite clearly not the case. Apart from this problem it is a nice bit of kit and that is why I have not taken it back to the shop yet, but am hoping that the Numark DJ/io solves the problem. I am assuming that when it is connected I go into the prefrances-audio and assign the headphones in there?

the price of the Numark sc is probly what you have paid for the hardware software ,,,, look in Cross teck support under the topic slight delay in headphone by kev mac he posted a link for a more cheaper in price sc that he said works ,, check it out,, you might want to ponder your options ,,before spending more monie now and have to go another route..that what the fourm is for to get the info before you spend monie and waste time not getting what you need to get where you want

Decided to go with this http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASI ... os_producton the advice of Kev. Thanks for the pointer Daniel. I will report back and let you know if it solved the issue, tbh I can not see it giving me any problems, alright the sound quality may be poorer than the Numark but on a home rig I cant see this being an issue and something I can live with.

Right got the sound card but cant get it to work as a speaker headphone combination.
I am running mixvibes Cross le 1.3.2 with the ion discover DJ controller(updated Cross le last night to latest version) I have asio4all installed from previously trying to get a non multi channel s/c to work (Behringer UCA222). I have the Trixe s/c plugged into the USB socket and installed the drivers for Win 7 from the mini cd that was supplied. I then open up Cross le and go into prefrences then audio. Now if I click the drop down tab if gives me the following:
DIRECT SOUND: Primary sound driver Speakers (2-USB Multi-Channel Audio Device) Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) Digital Output (2-USB Multi-Channel Audio Device)
ASIO: ASIO4ALL v2 Behringer USB Audio (installed previously before I relised I needed a multi channel sound card) << No audio device >>
Now when I use the ASIO4ALL option it gives me the option along with the dual stereo routing mode to asign Audio device 1/Audio Device 2 to Output 1 & Audio Device 3/Audio Device 4 to Output 2, it also gives me the option to assign Audio Device 5/Audio Device 6 & Audio Device 7/Audio Device 8 to output 3 if I so wish but I have been assigning -- None -- to Output 3.
I have the front speaker output on the s/c connected to my amp via a 3.5mm jack to Din and the sound comes out perfectly. I have the headphones plugged into the rear/middle speaker output on the s/c but no sound comes out of the headphones. I have tried changing the output and audio device config but can only ever get one to work, never both at the same time. It is starting to cost me a fortune and a lot of time now trying to resolve this and is becoming a major stress anyone supply any help?
