[EN] Cross Waveform with vocals/acapellas

Postby Hannes on 06 Oct 2011, 11:01

Hi,

I remember Syl saying, that the parallel waveform is made from the global waveform.
though they don't correspond on vocal/scratch tracks.
don't know if this is due to the missing bass-freqs...

there you can clearly see the difference between the waveforms.
this is not related to the waveform-zoom!

Hey mate,

I'm investigating a bit to give you the most relevant answer as possible.

But please watch the tracks loaded (and their artwork) in your players when sending screenshots to me

C ya.

Thanx mate

I've made some tests, and definitely this is due to lack of low freqs and envelop (applied during analysis) effects. This analysis was initially designed to emphasize the kicks, and obviously fails when no kick!

ok,
so you´re saying it uses the same basic waveform, but applies enhanced detail to drumpeaks. get the point. :)
not happy though

By the way, this is exactly the same data as the overview, and there is no difference on screen apart from the zoom ;)

i get that, but still why does´t it show the vocal-midrange in the beginning correctly like the overview does?

Only from the beatmatching waveforms it looks like there wouldn´t be any audio until 1-2 seconds.

in the pic there´s no dynamic zoom applied :?: :!:

The player waveforms are not using the same data.

Overview and matching ones have the same data, with the issue explained above.

Yeah, that´s crap. should be the other way round.

player=matching, those are he two main waveforms which should be the same (except the highlighted drumpeaks)
It´s crazy two to have no stripe in the matching-display when scratching
