Mapping of Button's LED/Backlighting in Cross

I have mapped 6 buttons on my new controller, which I know contain LED's/Backlighting.

Here are the buttons

In the DJ software that came with it (VirtualDJ DJC 7) these buttons light up when pressed, for example

Is it possible to get the button LED's/backlighting to work in Cross?

If so, how?

Hey,

you need the MIDI note for the button light. every led has it's own MIDI note for lighning. Then you can map it at Cross.

To map them at Cross you have to open the file outside of Cross and insert the code per hand. Which commands are possible you can find here: viewtopic.php?f=268&t=19330

So the main question is currently has you the list of every MIDI note for the buttons and also for the light? then the rest is only some writing ;).

Christian

I get it Christian, cheers mate ;)

There is a load of info and MIDI stuff in the back of the manual. I will take a look at it tomorrow. It's too late now

If I can't find the info that I need in the manaul is there any program I can download and use to find these "MIDI notes" for the LED's

As for editting the Cross mapping file will a standard xml editer do?

I don't know a program but they have a minimum range of of numbers which they can use for that so you can take a program like MidiOX and send MIDI notes to the controler and check what happens ;). I did this at my Numark NDX800 for a few buttons currently. It take some minutes but it works ;). If someone knows a better way or faster I would also be happy to get these information ;).

I use for those files NotePad++. It is an very effectiv and powerfull program where you can set nearly every programming language ;). The best is that you can open nearly every file with this editor and set then the parameters you need. In this case go at languages -> XML and the program highlites everything.

No Problem Jim B. I hope everything will work quick so that you can use the controler with Cross as fast as possible and has not the problems like me ;).

I currently write my 10th mail or more at Numark for a list of every possible command for the controler but still no response:(.

But if you need help with MidiOx or NotePad++ or mapping outputs you can ask here or via PM.

Christian

Is there a more detailed guide on mapping controller LEDs anywhere? I'm useless with code so could do with a bit of hand holding through the process of mapping the LEDs on my K2. I looked in the manual but it's not mentioned there

You may try reading some more in the MIDI section of the forum.

Most of times FigDJ can be of hand.

You can take a look at my XONE K2 mapping file in a text editor to get an idea of the LEDs... :)
