U-Mix 44 & DVS 6.391 or Cross le not working

Postby Djoram on 29 Jul 2011, 15:22

hi everyone,

I've just bought a U-Mix 44 sound card and a Mixvibes DVS edition with control cd's. Now I've hooked everything up but it ended up not working at all.
The soundcard doesn't even get recognized in mixvibes DVS. So I tried the Cross le software included with the soundcard. This went a lot better. The soundcard got recognized and i could play music.
But because I want to control the software with the control cd's I tried getting that to work and that's where I'm stuck. I can get a signal from the cd's and even rerout it trough to the mixer (which producec just noise) but I can't get it so I can manipulate the software (or music more precise) with the cd's.
Any thought on this problem? Any help will be appreciated!

Hey,

what exactly is your problem? is the soundcard u-mix44 correct recognised from the OS?

Some more details to what you use like a intel i5 processor, Win 7? is it 64bit or 32bit? which driver do you have installed?
(the newest from the board or the one from the CD?)

How do you connected your soundcard in your system?

Christian

Thanks for your reaction.
The problem is that I can't control the music playing with the control cd's (in Cross LE) and can't get the soundcard to work at all in DVS 7

Yes the soundcard get's recognized by the os (an Windows 7 Home premium 64Bit)
I'm using an Intel core 2 duo P8700 (2,53Ghz)
And i've installed the latest driver (at least as i could've found) which seems to be an 1.0.4

and for the last question I don't really understand so I'm guessing you mean a port which is an Usb 2.0.

OK, yes the newest driver is 1.0.4.

With my last question I want to ask for the connection how you have your players connected to the soundcard and the soundcard to the mixer.
It sounds maybe stupid or something else but we had in the past a few persons how connected them wrong. So I allways ask for that.

At your topic you wrote DVS 6.391. Please update the version to 7.4RC or 7.218. You should be able to download it here at the forum at the download section. If not check your serial you got with the U-Mix44 pack.

And DVS is able to create Config Reports which allows us to see how you configured your DVS (soundcard, Inputs/outputs, TC connection) please push first on both players play that you got a signal to the U-Mix and then create a config report. After that please post it here.

I think your CD players are too loud so the Timecode is not recognised correctly. (it is a known problem ;))

Alright it works pretty much now! thank you so much, I needed to upgrade to version 7.4. It's all working fine now excpet for i need to make cue point and so with my cd-players but because it seems to behave as a turntable with vinyl that doesn't work. Do you maybe know how to fix this problem? And I also am still not able of controlling the music in Cross le. I've updated it to version 1.6.0 but still it doesn't work, maybe a solution there to?

But anyway thank you so much for helping me out with the problem!

Hey,

go to the audio preferences of your computer select the U-Mix 44 and decrease the input volume to for example 3%. CD Players are too loud which I can see at your config report:
Djoram wrote:Volume optimum=275056430957287260000000000.000

This is not realy a correct value ;)^^.
To see what I mean go to the following link:
http://www.mixvibes.com/content/support/dvs-ultimate/dvs-ultimate-faq

And open the section: "How do I adjust the U-MIX44 output and input volumes in the Windows audio settings?"

After that calibrate the Timecode control again and it should work like you want.

To your second problem. I never used the Cross LE version so I can't say if it is there working maybe one of the MixVibes team can answer the question.

Try using your audio interface with a sample rate of 48kHz. Because you are using a 64 Bit machine this is needed to be able to use it.

Hey,

generally you should use your system only for Audio work nothing else ;) to get high performance. Disable all background programs do you not need and so on.

here is also a link to a page where many tipps are:

PS: so we can set the thread as resolved?
