how 2 disable autogain in Vfx

Postby vjbadboy on 21 Jul 2011, 19:46

hi everyone!

i disable the autogain in preference (general - mix) but it still in autogain, i just want a manual gain adjustment because autogain doesnt equally matches the sound of my files, u have to level the red/black arrow before u can adjust the gain so it takes more time, is there any way to adjust gain manually without matching the red/black arrow?

thanks!

hello!

yes i have already done it from the first time, and many times, unchecking the autogain in preference (mix), sometimes i reboot to make disable work but it still in autogain,

and i wonder why? i buy new PC laptop only for Vfx alone and i have these i7 2nd gen with 8 gb ddr3 ram with 2gb dedicated videocard so i think i have the hihgest specs in the world that makes no issues with my Vfx.

more options pls... just want 2 disable autogain thanks!

Hi, try going in the folder on your computer where Vfx is installed and clicking on the reset.exe file. This will allow you to reset your software to the original state.

*Actually there is no way in Vfx to disable the soft takeover feature.
This function is to be used whenever the functions controlled by the hardware can change their value without touching the hardware, such as the Pitch Fader that moves when pressing Sync. The action of the associated fader or knob will be ignored until it is brought to the position matching the position in the software. This allows taking over control with absolute controllers seamlessly.

*If you enable the 'auto gain adjustment' option, the player will always plays at -3dB (based on the media gain calculated when analyzing). For instance, if you media gain is -7dB then when you load it in a player the gain value will be +7dB -3dB = +4dB.

If you disable the 'auto gain adjustment' option, the player will always load the media with the gain set during your last mix. For instance, if you have played a media at -5dB, the next time the media will be automatically loaded at -5dB.

hi!

thanks for the explanation, i appreciate a lot. actually
its normal for me now matching the red/black arrow before
adjusting gain, with so many gigs it doesnt bother anymore,

still its better if it works with manual adjustment like
the standard mixers you know what i mean, so i hope that
mixvibes will set this adjustment for their next new version of
Vfx firmware, also the level meter is so thin, sometimes i cant
see it specially when im in a bar with low light, hope they can
make it fat or put in the middle that 2 level meter to make
more comfortable on leveling or balancing the sound.

all my co-vj asking the same thing whenever they try
to use my Vfx, its the autogain and the level meter prob.

i have many controllers but Vfx is the best for me now,
and if mixvibes can adjust it, i can say that Vfx is perfect!
honestly!!!!

thank u very much!
