Hey,

have you for back and forward different MIDI Notes? Or is it one MIDI note but with different Commands on it?

When one MIDI note for for and back and also one for touch it is like this:
Here you can find the picture: http://cid-9908f74c2df2d681.office.live ... sTouch.jpg

You have one channel for the touch and one for the movement.
For that it is a bit tricky to set the forward and backward range. If you have MIDI OX or some other programs to see what MIDI command is send you can check it with it and set it like the messages.
If not you have to test it.

If you have one MIDI Note for forward and one for backward and also one MIDI note for touch you have to use the Bidirectional touch mode. There you can set the channel (event) to touch, back move and forward movement.

So best way check first what commands are send when spinning the jog.

regards
Christian

@support: if you have got an "inofficial beta" mapping for the VMS4 can you please send this to djcie? As you can read he is going nuts and wild just because he can not get it working the way he wants to for weeks (even months) now. You would help him a lot imho and I think he does not care if it is just beta or inofficial. From what I have read every mapping except his own will be like gold.

Thanks for reading!

Cheers,

Steve

Oh yeah, my bad, I just forgot that it doesn't work with your public firmware.
As I already told you we were working with them on a mapping with enhanced MIDI messages, so they made a new and better firmware to work with.

You still have the old (current) firmware, so yes, it will never work.

Agree with you : the jog only send crap that's why you would never ending to have something good.

Oh c´mon,

you tease him with new firmware, tell him that the current one is crap
and that´s it?!?
With all due respect (and our online Bro-hood in mind)
I´m sorry, but that´s just bullshit!

At least give him a little help (or a release-date for the new fw)

We got no control on this firmware, even not sure it'll be released !

The only thing we're sure about is that the current one is crap and require the host app to have dedicated hacky code to have the VMS4 work. After having told this to AA, they sended us an updated firmware that fixes the issues, but has not been released yet !

So, don't blame Support (he's a good guy you know ^^).
Unfortunately, I guess it's not possible to have the jog working correctly in Cross with the current firmware....

I know it, and you know it,

but this post makes support sound like an ass
And I dont like my friends to be asses ;)

would´ve been smarter to send a pm and explain the situation imo.

The actual situation :
- the current firmware can't work with Cross
- the enhanced one is still not available to the public
- I'm sounding like an ass even if it's not my decision of not releasing the firmware
- I'm feeling like an ass working in a hurry to complete a mapping for nothing

Conclusion : I don't make the rule.
