No that link you posted is for a different problem, that post was for a file with a tag relating to gain or something like that. Cross didnt handle that properly. That is listed as something else in the fix for the 1.4 RC download.


I assume the FIX: for loading a new track refers to exactly what I stated in this post.

If not please let me know.

Okay so I haven't gotten a chance to do any testing, but looking at the Cross 1.4RC download & the list of FIXES, I came across one that sounds exactly like what was happening to me.


FIX : Cross could crash on new track load.

I am hoping this will fix the problem & eliminate any crashing I previously encountered with Cross.

Unfortunately until then, Cross cannot be used at any LIVE events.

OK, the bug was found and fixed, was due to some volume relative frames.

This kind of file won't crash Cross anymore in the next update !

Sorry, it wasn't clear indeed

It was due to a particular id3 frame storing the ReplayGain information. This ones is not handled in Cross (but shouldn't crash the app !) and we just never tested a file containing such a frame (as we don't use ReplayGain).

I would assume is related to this post here that we are in now "Cross - Crashing", if it is not related to this post & it is referring to my other post that you have linked to, then it is misleading since there are 2 fixes that are related to the same thing on the list for the 1.4RC download.

You're probably right but I don't understand how we could fix something we couldn't identify/reproduce.

In one post, the file from replaygain was a problem.
In the other post, we still don't know what was causing this...
