I think so...
Last time everything was ok between Cross and my FA-101, I met the problem on Producer.
I'm gonna test to disactive my intern soundcard in Bios... Then, if it doesn't change anything, perhaps I'm gonna format my Laptop soon... I think it could be good for my laptop too.

I can confirm this problem on OSX. Depending on what output is set for the third, the first and second get scrambled. It's not a showstopper, but it leads to incorrect mappings. If this occurs on OSX.. then isn't it only either Cross' fault, or the actual soundcard itself?
Mind that FA-101 driver is built into OSX - not Edirol written.

I met problems again and again on my Windows Vista with only my Producer ... After a search on my friend google, I read that this kind of problem can be caused by Realtek soundcard's driver on Windows OS...
Someone said that he uninstalled his Realtek soundcard's driver and everything gone well.
I didn't try it because I think I need this @!!# soundcard to have sound on my HDMI port... However, I'm going to try it later and tell you what's happening.

Just a note, to proove your idea: While I was installing Win7 because my Vista could not handle Cross the internal audio interface was not recognized by Win7. So I thought: Why not using the U46 MKII only. This is how I am working at the moment and Cross runs very brilliant no. Maybe this could be your solution. Unfortunately I do not know how the internal sound and HDMI is connected?! Can you explain it to me?
So you uninstal your internal soundcard's drivers and only work with your U46MKII ?
I don't know how HDMI and soundcards are connected but I'm going to try to understand how HDMI sound works. but I think that we can't use HDMI sound if we uninstal our internal soundcard...
With my realtek soundcard, I have to change her output if I want to have sound on my TV or on my Laptop... I didn't find a possibility like this one with my FA 101...
Gonna search...
