Re: latency problem

Postby Support@MixVibes on 29 Jan 2010, 11:36

This is not the console !

The console is under : applications/utility
- start the mac from off status (not hibernate, not sleep)
- launch Cross
- play with until it crash
- launch the console

you'll see something like that
mac_console.jpg

- select all events from start to crash (as shown even if mine didn't crash...).
- go to file/save selection as/

Then put the file (or its content) here.

Yes I think I have a clue, but not sure for now.
Could you please also send the crash log files that are in the console too.

Click on 'show log list'
in the left panel select : ~/Library/Logs
goto CrashReporter
then Cross_year-month-date

Please send me these files.

Strange !

Either Cross never crashed on your computer, or you deleted the reports since then ...

the problem is a very short blank/cut in the sound followed by a really big latency. But the user interface is still reacting fast/normally (browsing files, loops, etc...) So Cross is still working fine but the sound card (mixvibes U46DJ) suddenly has a really long latency (about 250ms = half a beat). Once the bug happend, I have that latency in other software too (garageband).

So i'm not sure if Cross "really" crashes.

Oooohhhhh may be it's not the software but the soundcard.
Could you try with another one or with the integrated one (I know it is limited but it is for test purpose).

works fine using the internal sound card, I've been using it for 90 minutes now and there's no problem.

I don't have another sound card :(
