It´s the hardware, not the software!

As I have already said in numerous answers on this site, 3dex will work with W7 as long as you use the latest 3DEX 7.3000

And your theory is also false :

Now, we're speaking here of a product wich is not a full in house product, that is almost 4 years old (3 for sure) and that didn't have any update since Decmeber 2009, so I'm sure you'll understand that it will never have any new update.

Make sure your device is correctly detected into the device manager, avoid conflict with any usb audio device drivers and you should be ok with your installation.
