Recording with MixVibes Cros time coded vinyls and Xone 23c

Postby fravs on 19 Nov 2017, 20:50

So i understand that you can't record the mix of the two channels on Cross LE, but i can't work out how record using audacity.
When i connect a cable from the mixer's record out to the headphone jack on my laptop nothing seems to happen

You can use Cross LE for recording using the aux input in Prefences.

Using Audacity is also a good option. You can do many things with it. The first thing to check would be the channels that are set as input for the uadicity tracks.

Audio dropouts? Increase audio 'buffer size' value.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

Should be visible in Preferences > Audio tab at the left.
pretty sure also the LE has it.

Next would be to create a virtual sound card using ASIO4ALL to join the Xone and additional input to one 'overall' sound card.

Please let's know if you have the aux as option, else explaining is pretty useless.

For aux input i can either choose "Input 1/Input 2" or "Input 3/Input 4". Surely i would need them both?

You need to add a channel to the inputs. You can do this by installing ASI4ALL driver. Download from asio4all.com.

Install. (re)start Cross. Select the soundcard ASIO4all. Change settings. Select your laptop input and the Xone. One of the buttons down right in the ASIO4ALL menu make it possible to select multiple cards/channels.

After this you can select the additional input.

If possible select only the soundchannels you actually use. It depends on each individual soundcard driver what detail you can select.

I am using a mac, so is ASIO4ALL the same as aggregating sound cards?

Sorry, thought 'laptop' refered to Win.

Yes you need to aggregate.
